Maintain extinguisher inspection records in compliance with FDNY, OSHA and Joint Commission standards. •Work with fellow Fire Protection Specialists on maintaining an acceptable fire extinguisher inventory to meet the operational and compliance needs of MSKCC. •Monitor construction/renovation sites and other areas under Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM). •Perform monthly life safety inspections at main campus and off-site locations as assigned. Report the results of these inspections to the Fire Protection Manager. •Generate electronic work requests when appropriate. Document the inspections in compliance with FDNY, OSHA and Joint Commission standards. Initiate corrective actions where necessary to achieve life safety compliance. You Need: •Background in fire safety. •Associates degree in Safety, Fire Science/Administration or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred. •Teaching or instruction experience. •Experience with performing fire and safety inspections. •Knowledge of federal, NY State and NY City regulations and the Life Safety Code. •Ability to obtain the following NY City Fire Dept. This includes tracking all employees' attendance to safety meetings, required periodic safety training and plant alarm/notification systems. •Serve as a regulatory compliance resource. •Assist Manager Safety & Environment and Operations (management, engineering and maintenance) regarding safety affairs. •Categorize all corrective actions from safety investigations and track for completion and timeliness. This includes developing plant communications for safety incidents and follow-up auditing. Review safe task procedures and assurance adherence to company policy and regulatory guidelines. •Coordinate onsite contractor safety, interact with ATI Plant Engineering, vendors and suppliers. •Attend safety classes and maintain all required safety certificates. •Assist in new equipment installation reviews. •Maintain ATI Safety & Risk System database. •Conduct new employee safety training. •Act as safety counselor to employees with multiple safety incidents

The safety supervisor helps to carry out safety initiatives and contributes to the application of effective safety programs. Responsibilities: • Assists the Safety Manager with the implementation and continuous improvement of safety programs. • Participates and coordinates incident investigations from initiation to checking of final closure corrective actions. • Assist with the development of lock out/tag out, fall protection, diving, and confined space procedures. • Maintains recordkeeping systems such as the safety training, crane, fall protection, confined space certifications, and other training systems that are currently in development • Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring as required. • Ability or desire to learn SharePoint to assist with updating the safety site as needed. • Assist the safety manager during safety training. • Participate in reward and recognition, employee events, and ESAT action planning • Coaches and motivates Technical Services hourly team members to promote safe and efficient operations while also exceeding client expectations of communication, responsiveness, quality of service, and technical efficiency. • Ensures that collective bargaining agreements are upheld by partnering with HR and Labor Relations to maintain positive union relationships • Supports USH’s environmental, health & safety policies. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Provides excellent customer service.
      Required Skills: • 1-3 Years technical and trade experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (Internship experience accepted!) • Ability & willingness to work non-traditional hours, overtime, weekends and holidays with short notice • Ability and willingness to respond to incidents in locations requiring climbing, fall-protection, and other non-traditional work-environments. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
      Required Education: • Bachelors of Science (B.S.) Safety Science or related field of study (environmental engineering, industrial engineering) preferred. • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) preferred.
