Monitor the implementation of operations and maintenance procedures for plant industrial hygiene control equipment such as sound reduction, airborne contaminant control, etc. Identify, clarify, resolve, and initiate solutions to problems encountered; use cost effective strategies and productivity improvement methods in all applicable duties. Serve as needed as the plant focal point for regulatory agencies. Operate and troubleshoot industrial hygiene equipment and systems such as air sampling pumps, confined space monitors, respirator fit-test equipment, insulation sampling equipment, lead paint sampling, and other similar activities as identified. Implement reduction efforts as assigned or required for employee exposure as described in AEP or agency industrial hygiene programs and regulations. Coordinate and provide, as needed, required and appropriate industrial hygiene training of employees with a thorough understanding of training elements. Assist with economic analysis of industrial hygiene compliance and projects. As directed assist with the development of a budget for IH compliance items.
