| The safety
sciences faculty at IUP are highly qualified to ensure an advanced level of
student-faculty interaction. There are twenty-two members with eight
being full-time teaching faculty. They come from a varied background
with experience in industries such as oil, chemical, textiles, explosives,
insurance, steel and manufacturing. The faculty encourage active
participation in safety, health and environmental organizations and
professional development activities.

Faculty: The department faculty members are
unique because virtually all of them have had responsibility for safety/health
programs in industrial settings prior to coming to IUP.
