COACHES:
This email it to make sure everyone is "on board" and knows what the
procedure is for coaches checking in at YMCA Districts and receiving access
to the pool deck.
Coaches will need to check in just like swimmers. You MUST have with you
your East Field pass and a driver's license. You MUST check in at the
Indiana YMCA Friday night, or in the upstairs hallway outside the MFH pool
balcony on Saturday or Sunday. Once checked in, you will recieve a wristband
which must be worn throughout the meet.
At districts, while on deck you must wear the wristband and have your deck
pass either in your pocket or around your neck, in clear view so security
members can easily see the East Field pass.
If you do not have with you the deck pass or your driver's license, you will
not recieve an armband and you will not be permitted on the pool deck.
Please feel free to direct questions to me or Glenda Pae (paelittlegirl2@aol.com).
Our thanks for your cooperation on this issue.

West PA YMCA Coaches.....3 VERY
IMPORTANT items.....
1. Friday night registration for
Districts will be held at the Indiana County YMCA gymnasium and not at
IUP. For those who would like directions for mapquest or a GPS, the Y
location is 60 N. Ben Franklin Rd., Indiana, PA 15701
2. The deadline for entries has been
moved back 24 hours. Entries are due at 11:59 p.m. on Friday night,
February 27th.
3. The biggie ($-cha ching, cha ching!).
The cost of entries for individual events is $5.50 per event and $22 for
relays. I only discovered this today. I nor the Indiana County YMCA
are setting the cost. For those who have questions, see the attached
rules supplement, page 5, #6 (Entry Blanks and Fees) b.-7.
The web site was updated today to
reflect the changes. The entry information site should be updated
shortly.
Questions? Please let me know.
Obviously, all 3 items above are all
very important, so please spread the word to your assistant coaches and
teams!!!

January 11, 2009 |
The date for
advertisements for the YMCA Districts program has been
"moved up." Due date is February 10 for business and "happy" ads as
compared to February 25th for the program.
Sorry about the change; please forward the info to your teams when you get a
second...thanks. |

WEST PA YMCA COACHES:
The web site for districts is done...almost (except for electronic entries
portion and time trials)!!!
1.
I have moved it from the Indiana County YMCA server to an IUP server (got
the o.k. from the "higher ups").
There are two different ways to get to it:
http://www.hhs.iup.edu/hped/swmeets/2009ymcawestdistricts/
or from the IUP Swim Meets Results page-
http://www.hhs.iup.edu/hped/swmeets/
At the top of the page I set a link which we will keep out there.
PLEASE forward this information/the link/the site address to your assistant
coaches, parents, swimmers, and anyone else who needs to know this
information (executive directors, aquatic directors, program directors, etc.
etc. etc.!).
2.
The electronic entry information is not on the page yet. I can't see anyone
submitting entries today, so I know we've got a bit of time. When we've got
the site for entries set up, I will send you an email. Should be real soon.
3.
Time trials have not been finalized. What we are leaning toward is this:
Sunday after senior boys free relay, absolutely, for sure.
Friday night, no, not this year.
Saturday, a 30 minute warmup after the 11/12 boys free relay and then time
trials--probably.
When time trials are finalized, you will hear via email and it will be
posted.
4.
Coaches social: Saturday night at the Holiday Inn, more details later. Plan
to attend and unwind with your fellow coaches.
5.
Please note that information for the novice meet and B Districts is posted
on the site as well.
6.
Last and most important! I have thoroughly, and I mean thoroughly gone over
and over the site. I don't think there is a mistake. I hope not!
BUT....if you notice an error (or something does not quite make sense),
please email me right away.
Thanks in advance to anyone who provides editorial assistance.
Wishing you all the best at your dual meets and invitationals during January
and February. |
