New Advisees

Welcome to the Health and Physical Education Virtual Advising website. This website was developed to assist students with the advising process.

Each student within the Health and Physical Education department has an academic advisor. The academic advisor is usually assigned to a student based on the student’s academic interest. For example, if you have an interest in athletic training, you are generally assigned to one of the department’s athletic training faculty. If you are interested as physical activity as a sport, you will be assigned to one of the department’s exercise science faculty.

The academic advisor helps students register for classes, apply for student teaching, apply for pre-professional and internship experiences, apply for graduation and other academic related issues. Students should see their advisor during their scheduled advising period during each semester and students who are planning to graduate should see their advisor two semesters prior to the planned graduation date to ensure that all the necessary course work and requirements are completed.

Since professors have a lot to deal with outside advising, the Virtual Advisor was created to guide students through the advising process. Students should review this website for additional information and guidance regarding the advising process.

Within this link you will find additional information regarding the various professional choices one can make within the health and physical education department.

This section was created to prepare students for an advising session and to address concerns related to the topic. Follow this link carefully, it will assist you in your meeting with your advisor, and assist in your academic planning process.

Throughout your university experience, you will have many opportunities. This section is meant to make you aware of opportunities that are available.
