Welcome from the Department Chair Thank you for your interest in the Human Development and Environmental
Studies Department. Our department is unique in that it is made up of four
very different programs. Each of the programs, however, is committed to
the department mission of training professionals who can help people use
their resources effectively to live more satisfying and productive lives.

The department is composed of programs that are interdisciplinary and share humanistic values.
