The Office of the Associate Dean offers a variety of services designed
to facilitate your development while you are at IUP. In particular,
the Associate Dean is concerned with your academic success and is
prepared to support you towards that end. Although you may feel free
to consult the Associate Dean about any concerns you may have, there
are specific services you need to know about that are offered only
by the office of your Associate Dean. Although the following list
is by no means exhaustive, it includes the services used most frequently
by undergraduate students.

In addition, you need to see the Associate
Dean for the following: Permission to withdraw from a course after the
close of the prescribed withdrawal period for such reasons as illness,
accident, or extreme personal problems. Failing a course is not a sufficient
reason for requesting a withdrawal after midterm. Faculty are required
to inform students of their standing in class prior to the midpoint
of the course.
THE DEAN

The Dean of the College of Health and Human Services is responsible
for the overall administration of the college. This includes all faculty,
personnel, budgetary matters, and curriculum. While the Associate Dean's
office handles all student matters, the Dean is available to students
if the Associate Dean is not available.
